Reasons to Rent an RV That AREN'T Camping
We love seeing where are renters find to camp. But the biggest surprise in renting our trailers has been some of the unconventional and often times really fun places that we get to deliver our campers that is not your traditional campground.
We want to keep inspiring ideas that make renting an RV so fun. So here is a list of some of our favorite non-camping rentals!
1. MOTORCROSS
Some of our favorite repeat renters have children competing in amateur motocross events all across the state. The atmosphere at these events is so fun with family-filled RV's everywhere! These renters were able to get a couple of spots rights right next to their friends and it is such a fun family friendly party atmosphere all weekend.
Most of these places have hookups if you can lock it down for the season or way in advance or can just pack your generator and dry camp on the grounds surrounding the racetracks.
The Texas Winter series has stops around the DFW area at Freestone Raceway (site) in Wortham, SWAN MX Raceway in Tyler (site), Village Creek MX in Ft. Worth (site), and Oak Hill Raceway (site) in Decatur. We will deliver our trailers to any of these locations and can offer a discount to those that need them for all of the races on the schedule!
2. WILL ROGERS MEMORIAL CENTER - FORT WORTH
Did you know they have RV sites with full hookups right on the grounds? Neither did we until we had a sweet renter who stayed onsite for an entire week just steps from her horse's stables while she competed in a horse show. It was so neat to see the bustle of the center during the show and how great it was that owners had the opportunity to stay close by their horses so they could keep a watchful eye and tend to them.
Renting an RV can be a cheaper and much more convenient alternative to hotel stays during events at the Fort Worth Stockyards and Will Rogers Memorial Center. Especially if you are competing in endless list of events onsite like Cowgirls in Cowtown, RSNC Regionals, Livestock Extravaganza, USTPA Elite Team Penning World Finals, Western States Appaloosa Classic, Cinch RSNC World Finals, APHA World Championship Show, NCHA Summer Cutting Spectacular, USTPA Cowtown Showdown, AQHA Select World Championship Show, AMHA - World Championship Show, APHA Fall Show, NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity, ApHC World Championship Show, IALHA National Show, NCHA World Championship Futurity.
It is great for those competing so they can tend to horses and livestock but also great for exhibitors at the other events like Fort Worth Gun Show, Home and Garden Show, Symphony, and Dance Competitions.
And we haven't even mentioned the other things that could be going on over at the Ft. Worth Stockyards!
3. COWBOY VILLAGE - ALVARADO, TX

Most DFW residents are familiar with the rodeos and events and Will Rogers and the Stockyards but exciting things happen over at the 1017 Arena in Alvarado wich has 60 covered RV sites offered at Cowboy Village. We had a family in town for the Junior World Finals and were able to stay all week in one of trailers. Once again being able to stay close to the action and their horses on site. There are all kinds of events throughout the year; cutting, steer wrestling, roping, barrel racing, calf roping, and rodeos to name a few.
4. REDNECKS WITH PAYCHECKS - SAINT JO, TEXAS

If you know...You know. I did not. Until our first rental request came in for one of these events and my husband had to give me the download. He couldn't hold his excitement knowing he would get to deliver a camper to one and check it out for himself.
This is definitely not a family event. It is 1200 acres of offroad amusement and attractions open to the public twice a year. Mud, rocks, music, camping & fun as they say on their website. Lots of Monster Trucks and ATV's putting their offroad skills to the test in a crazy party atmosphere.
4. TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

The thrill of a raceweek! There are many ways to camp over at Texas Motor Speedway and it is the best way make sure not to miss any of the action and get ultimate access. There are so many ways to stay and renting and RV is the perfect way to be part of the fun. Try to snag a spot at the Geico Infield Campground, Winstar World Casino and Resort reserved camping, Emerald Luxury Coaches VIP Campground, or Burnout Alley Campground. You can get a season pass to camp at all of the events or pick your favorite; O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 Race Weekend, Genesys 600 Race Weekend, Autotrader Echo Park Automotive 500 Race Weekend, INDYCAR Series, NASCAR Camping World Series Trucks, and of course the NASCAR Cup Series.
5. DISASTER RELIEF
There is nothing fun about this one. But it can be a godsend for someone who just lost everything to be able to have a roof over their head and a place to call their own. RV's are a quick way to get aide to those in need. When disaster strikes we have seen relief groups reach out to RV rental companies to quickly pull together long term and stable housing for those that need it most in their most desperate times.
The RV community rallies and we are honored to be part of a group of people who will bend over backwards to lend a hand! Our real prayer is that no one has to go through something like this but know if it does happen we will be here for you.
6. LONG TERM TEMPORARY HOUSING
The good news is temporary housing needs aren't always because of disasters. They can be for very positive reasons too! We had renters who wanted to rent one of our trailers long-term because they bought a piece of property and were just about to break ground on their house. But they had already sold their current house and wanted to be able to move onto their property early before their home was finished. RV to the rescue! They had RV hookups set up on their property to allow them to live full time in the camper while their home was being built.
They got to enjoy being on their new piece of paradise early and bonus got to be onsite to supervise construction to help it move along faster. Win, win!
